Residents Welcome Award-Winning Photographer For Inspiring Hands-On Workshop at Richmond Villages Cheltenham

Richmond Villages Cheltenham recently hosted a special hands-on photography workshop for its residents, welcoming award-winning photographer, Lee Hawley, at its beautiful grounds for an afternoon of creativity and learning how to capture picture-perfect moments.

Residents living at Richmond Villages Cheltenham welcomed Lee, whose expertise and warm approach transformed an afternoon into an inspiring and truly memorable experience for residents and staff alike.

Throughout the session, Lee guided participants through a practical tutorial covering the art and craft of photography from composition and lighting techniques through to making the most of everyday moments.

Using both smartphone cameras and DSLR equipment, residents were quite literally encouraged to explore the world through a creative new lens. Lee's expert tips were accessible to all levels of experience, ensuring that whether picking up a camera for the first time or looking to refine existing skills, everyone came away with fresh confidence and new techniques to try.

The session formed part of Richmond Villages Cheltenham's ongoing commitment to offering residents enriching and stimulating activities that boost skills, spark creativity, and provide exciting opportunities to learn something new. Photography, as both a technical skill and a creative outlet, offered a wonderful way for residents to engage with their environment and capture the beauty of their everyday lives.

Glenda Parsons, Activities Co-ordinator at Richmond Villages Cheltenham, said: "We are so grateful to Lee for giving up his time to come and share his incredible knowledge and passion with our residents. It was a fantastic afternoon filled with learning, creativity, and plenty of picture-perfect moments. To have someone of Lee's calibre guiding our residents so generously was truly special, and the enthusiasm in the room was wonderful to see. We hope it's just the beginning of a new creative passion for many of our residents."

Cara Wood, Village Manager at Richmond Villages Cheltenham, added: "Offering residents the opportunity to try new things, develop new skills, and enjoy inspiring experiences right on their doorstep is exactly what life at Richmond Villages Cheltenham is all about. Lee brought such warmth and expertise to the afternoon, and it was a joy to see our residents so engaged and energised. A huge thank you to Lee for a truly brilliant session."
