Resident Donates Over £1,200 for Little Princess Trust

A resident at Richmond Villages Aston-on-Trent has donated her hair to a children’s cancer charity in a remarkable act of generosity.

Sarah lives with us at Richmond Villages Aston-on-Trent and has raised an impressive £1,205 for The Little Princess Trust, which provides free wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions.

Residents and friends came together in the village’s wellness spa where they cut Sarah’s hair to show support and help raise money. Sarah’s donated hair will be used to create two wigs, offering much-needed comfort and confidence to children during an extremely challenging time.

Sarah commented: “Cancer affects so many of us in different ways and I was pleased to make a difference by donating my hair. Hair loss is particularly difficult for young people and I’m glad that my hair will be transformed into not one but two wigs for people who need it most.

“It was heartwarming to see the Richmond Villages community come together to show their support and I’m thrilled to have raised this money, which will help The Little Princess Trust continue its important work.”

Kerstin Taylor, Village Manager at Richmond Villages Aston-on-Trent, commented: “We are incredibly proud of Sarah’s decision to donate her hair to help those facing hair loss. Sarah’s generosity and determination to help others embodies the spirit of our community here at Aston-on-Trent. It was wonderful to see so many residents come together to support her and contribute to such a fantastic cause.”
