Cheryl has worked in the care industry since she was 19 years old. Now 36, she is a dedicated and experienced professional, who is proudly embarking on a new role as village manager at the local retirement village.
Cheryl has proudly been part of Richmond Villages for the last five years. Bringing decades of experience to the role, Cheryl has quickly progressed to village manager, stepping up from her role as deputy village manager.
Falling in love with working in health and social care during her time at university, Cheryl pursued a career in the industry after graduation, completing her NVQ Level 3 and NVQ Level 5 Leader in Adult Care qualifications and becoming a senior carer for 7 years.
Commenting on her new appointment, Cheryl said: “I love making a difference to people’s day, whether that is with conversation or a simple smile. I never get tired of hearing our residents’ stories of the wonderful things they have done in their lives and supporting them in every way we can.”
Cheryl adds: “I look forward to leading the team here at Painswick and putting resident experience and care at the forefront of all that we do.”
Sharing a highlight of her career, Cheryl added: “Being able to make a positive impact on people’s lives is very important to me."
“One of my fondest memories was while I was caring for a resident who was a fabulous artist. Sadly she became very unwell but always dreamt of holding an exhibition to sell her artwork. I was able to make this happen, I hired a beautiful barn, displayed her amazing paintings, and advertised like crazy!"
“It was a fantastic turnout, and the resident was delighted.. It was a really special day, and one I will never forget.”
Cheryl is excited to embark on her next journey as village manager at Richmond Villages Painswick and welcomes anyone who is at the village to stop by and say hello.
