Richmond Villages Northampton Hosts Classic Car Show

Last week 13 classic cars roared into the grounds of Richmond Villages Northampton to be part of a special vintage car show.

Throughout the day, residents and the local community had the chance to get up close to the stunning selection of vehicles and chat with their owners.

Proving to be one of the highlights of the village’s calendar, visitors were invited to vote for their favourite vehicle with Peter Russell’s yellow 1979 Lotus Elise taking home the coveted “Best in Show” award, along with a certificate and a gift card worth £25.

Other cars on display included an Austin 1100, a Rover P4, a Morris Traveller, a Humber Snipe and a MG Midget to name but a few.

The event, which is set to become an annual fixture, took place in the glorious warm sunshine with many from the community contributing donations towards the Dogs Trust by entering a Tombola, raising £108 for the charity.

John Akers, Village Manager at Richmond Villages Northampton, commented: “It was a fantastic day and was wonderful to see residents and visitors coming together to share in their love and nostalgia over so many vintage cars. It was also a great opportunity to support a charity close to our hearts. We can’t wait to host it again soon.”
