Rotary Club Quiz Night Raises £1,000 for Children's Hospices hosted at Richmond Villages Nantwich
The Wych-Malbank Rotary Club of Nantwich hosted their annual quiz night, successfully raising £1,000 to support children with life-threatening conditions and their families. The event was held in aid of Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith children’s hospices, two local charities dedicated to providing crucial care and support.
The quiz night, a staple in the Rotary Club's calendar, saw nearly 100 participants gather at Richmond Villages Nantwich, the club’s home base. Organiser and host John Sims guided the attendees through a series of challenging general knowledge questions, creating an engaging and competitive atmosphere.
Adding to the evening's appeal, guests enjoyed a delicious hot buffet at Richmond Villages. The event was generously sponsored by Afford Bond Accountants, whose support helped ensure the evening's success.
The quiz night managed to raise an impressive £860. Demonstrating their commitment to the cause, the Rotary Club rounded up the total to £1,000, providing a significant boost to Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith.
Fellow organiser Stuart Cummings expressed the club’s pride in supporting these vital local charities. “The quiz is always a popular event, with this year’s being a complete sell out,” he said. “It was lovely to be able to raise so much for such a worthwhile cause.”
The donation was warmly received by Hope House Fundraising Team Lead Cat Dowdeswell, who highlighted the impact of such contributions. “Money raised from events such as this helps us to provide vital respite, crisis, and end-of-life care to children and their families. Thank you, Wych-Malbank Rotary,” she said.
The success of the quiz night highlights the power of the Nantwich community in making a positive difference. The funds raised will help Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith continue their essential work, offering much-needed support to families facing incredibly challenging circumstances.
