Costs and Charges at Richmond Villages

More information on what you can expect to pay

Village Service Charge
(Apartments & Suites)

A key benefit to living at a Richmond Village is the level of service provided to make life more comfortable and enjoyable; things that we take care of so you don’t have to worry. These core services are paid for via the Service Charge which every resident who lives in a Village Apartment or Village Suite at Wood Norton will contribute to. This covers everything from buildings insurance, gardening and maintenance, to the use of Village transport, leisure facilities and regular activities and events.

Transfer Fees
(Event Fees)

Your lease includes a provision for a payment to Richmond on the sale of your apartment in the future when the lease is assigned to a new owner. This payment is a percentage of the price at which your apartment is sold and varies according to how long you have owned the property.

Lifestyle Packages
(Suites Only)

To complement your life in a Village Suite you will pay an agreed monthly fee which will take care of many aspects of daily life that you just don’t need to worry about:

We offer two different packages, a comprehensive Lifestyle Package and a more flexible Lifestyle Flex Package.

The Lifestyle Package is available at all Richmond Villages on Village Suite purchases and rentals. The Lifestyle Package includes:

All meals served daily in the restaurant (or at an additional charge, your suite)
Restocking of basic provisions including bread, milk, cereals, tea, coffee and butter
Laundry service including towels and bed linen
Daily tidy and weekly clean from the Richmond Housekeeping team
Utility bills (excluding council tax)
Daily post and newspaper delivery

The Lifestyle Flex Package is available on Village Suite purchases at Aston-on-Trent, Cheltenham, Letcombe Regis, Nantwich, Northampton, Painswick and Wood Norton. The Lifestyle Flex Package includes:

A daily meal served in the restaurant at a time to suit you, be that breakfast, lunch or dinner
Weekly laundry including towels and bed linen
Weekly clean from the Richmond Housekeeping team
Utility bills (excluding council tax)

The cost of lifestyle packages range in scale and are dependent on how many people are living in a suite (individual or couple) and how many bedrooms the suite has.

Ongoing Costs

Richmond Villages residents have our firm undertaking that their monthly Lifestyle Package Fee will increase only once a year, on the 1st April. This increase is based upon 2 index figures, the National Living Wage and the Consumer Price Index. 50% of the fee is aligned with the annual National Living Wage increase and 50% is aligned with the Consumer Price Index increase.

In line with our terms and conditions, residents receive at least a month’s written notice of changes to their fees for the following year.

For more information about on-going costs, please refer to the All You Need To Know booklet or discuss with your Village Adviser.

Care and Support Packages
(Apartments & Suites)

Our dedicated domiciliary team can provide personal care and in-home support to those living in our Village Apartments or Suites. This can be tailored to your individual wishes and needs and these will determine the overall cost. A simple assessment will outline what you require and costs will be agreed prior to the package being added to your Richmond account.

Paying for a Care Home

When you have decided the time is right for you to move into the care home you may feel worried and confused about how to pay the associated fees. As no two people are the same it’s difficult to outline what those fees may look like until we have met with you.

Once we have assessed your personal wishes and requirements our Village Advisors can clearly outline what you will need to pay and explain why. This will depend on the level of care and the length of stay that has been identified. Quite simply the more care and support you require, the higher the fees will increase.

In all circumstances, the fee at Richmond will always include the care provision bespoke to you, a comprehensive social activities programme; all meals and soft drinks, plus lifestyle services such as laundry and housekeeping.

All You Need to Know

As a member of ARCO we provide you with as much insight into the costs and fees associated with living at a Richmond Village, however, there are many variances determined by personal circumstance and the type of accommodation you choose which make it difficult to be exact without meeting you.

Our All You Need to Know booklet provides more information and answers frequently asked questions for you to download from our Brochure Gallery. We do suggest the next best step would be to arrange a meeting with one of our friendly and knowledgeable advisors to discuss your exact requirements.
