Teddies unite for disadvantaged Children

Teddies unite for disadvantaged Children

Richmond Villages Northampton decided to support The Faraway Children’s Charity by becoming a donation point for “new and loved teddy bears”.  The collection took part during the month of May.

Claire Fry, Senior Village Advisor said “We have been overwhelmed with the response receiving over 350 Teddies from Richmond residents as well as those that live in the local Grange Park community.  I even had a lady from Grange Park contact me via social media as she had knitted over 55 teddy bears for a previous charity that no longer required them; she was so pleased that we could accept them”.

Jane Deamer, Chairperson for The Faraway Children’s Charity said “Richmond residents have made a tremendous effort to collect teddies for us. We were astounded to see hundreds in their reception area all waiting for collection. We will be working hard to make sure they all get new homes with Northamptonshire’s needy children. With child poverty on the increase and thousands of disadvantaged families in the county, this is a real example of how collective action can make a significant positive difference. We hope to continue our relationship with Richmond over the coming months and the next collection scheduled is for children’s sunscreen.”
