Residents and staff were delighted to receive a visit from two very special guests as Spike and Twiggy the Owls visited Richmond Village Nantwich for the morning.
Pamela Graham from Stockley Birds of Prey brought the owls after it was suggested by one of the residents and what a good idea it was!
Spike, a Tawny Owl was the first to make an appearance sitting happily on each person’s arm witmany of the residents remarking how soft he was. Then it was the turn of Twiggy, the Barn Owl who was a little more lively and wanted to explore; it was a good job that he was wearing a lead as he kept looking at the roof rafters!
Pamela explained that the owls had been bought and not taken from the wild but that they are still fed their natural diet and live in surroundings mimicking their natural habitat.
Jane-Ann Stubbs, Activity Organiser at Richmond Village was delighted with how the visit went and remarked “It has been a lovely morning and the owls are beautiful. I think that everyone has thoroughly enjoyed their visit and I hope they will come and see us again soon.” Jane-Ann added “Our next visit is from a pony; I hope he willbe as well-behaved!” Twiggy was heard to say “Whooooooo?!
