An information afternoon by the Royal Voluntary
Service is being held at Richmond Village Nantwich on Thursday 18th
March from 2 to 5pm.
The Royal Voluntary Service, which will be
celebrating its 75th birthday this year, has recently changed from
being the Women’s Royal Voluntary Service and is now appealing for new
volunteers to help enrich the lives of older people and their families across
Jo Roberts, Services Manager for the Charity visited
the Village recently with her Deputy, Amy Cartwright and explained that they
are hoping to encourage new volunteers to support older people by giving time and
practical help. She added “Our
volunteers are ordinary men and women of all ages who are willing to spend time
with older people helping them to feel valued and involved whatever their age.
The afternoon at Richmond will allow people to come and find out about us and
to meet volunteers to chat about what is involved.”
Village Advisor Alison Harding remarked “We are delighted to be supporting
the RVS by hosting the information afternoon and helping to re-launch this
valuable service under its new name.”
Everyone is welcome to come along on the afternoon of the 18th March;
for further information please contact Alison or Nicola on 01270 629080.
