Residents and staff said a very fond farewell to Village
Driver, Bryan Burchell on Friday 7th February as he finally retired
from Richmond Village Nantwich.
At 82 years old, Bryan clocked up an impressive 17 years at
Richmond Nantwich, but his time at the Village is not over yet as he also owns
an Apartment where he lives with his wife Maru. Indeed, it was whilst working
as the Village’s Project Manager as it was being built that Bryan decided he
would like to make it his home as well as his workplace!
Village Manager Lynne Griffin presented Bryan with a hamper
on behalf of Richmond Villages and also over £400 which had been collected by
staff and grateful residents for all his kindness and hard work over the years.
“Bryan will be missed “Lynne remarked, “It will be strange
after such a long time, to not see him driving the Richmond vehicles around the
town or catch him doing his favourite crossword when he had a few minutes
Village Advisor Nicola Tooke added “We will miss Bryan and
we all hope that he can now enjoy his retirement, and maybe get the chance to
finish a crossword at his leisure!”
