Richmond Northampton will start a new group today called "Poetry In Motion".
Love Poetry, Love Life?
For all who love poetry and would like to write, read and share it then this introductory event is for you. Poet Sue Stewart will read from her work and encourage you to write your own poems beginning with one of the shortest and most intriguing of verse forms the riddle.
Those who wish to can then read their completed riddles to the group and we will all try to guess the answers. The session will close with readings of some of our favourite poems so do bring a book along.
This event is for those new to writing as well as more experienced writers and aims to provide a friendly and supportive environment in which to develop new skills and share a love of language.
Sue Stewart is a poet with over 25 years’ experience tutoring poetry in schools, colleges and universities including holding the "Creative Writing Fellowship" at Stirling University. She has published several poetry collections and won a national award for her first collection "Inventing the Fishes" (Anvil Press Poetry). She is Director of Write2B Ltd and as such has managed several national reading campaigns as well as evaluating arts projects for Arts Council England, the BBC and Channel Five.
