A year of fundraising at Richmond Village Nantwich has resulted in the amazing sum of over £4000 being collected for a number of different charities. Parkinson's UK, Hope House, Cystic Fibrosis and Macmillan Cancer have all benefited from the events held at the Village, with £2345 being raised in one night alone at a Black Tie Ball in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund.
The staff and residents at Richmond Nantwich keep thinking of new and exciting ideas to raise money including a balloon race, where over 300 balloons were released into the summer sky, a sponsored silence by Activities Assistant Fred Allman and raffles, tombolas and coffee mornings. A few brave staff have even braved a reverse bungee jump!
An Easter Egg Collection in association with CAT Radio resulted in hundreds of eggs being hand delivered by staff to local children's wards and support centres. The latest appeal for cuddly toys has transformed the Reception at Richmond Nantwich into a Santa's Grotto and more are donated every day, thanks to the generosity of our Residents and the general public. These will be delivered in time for Christmas to the Wingate Centre in Wrenbury, which offers respite care for disabled children and young adults.
In addition, the Village has supported Olwyn Payton of Sainsburys in Nantwich, who has recently been named our local volunteer of the year for all her tireless work for charity. In return, a huge hamper has been donated by Sainsburys for the annual staff raffle, proceeds of which will be handed to St Lukes Hospice.
