Residents and staff at Richmond Village Nantwich were delighted recently to present a cheque for £551.25 to the local branch of Parkinsons UK.
Chairperson of the Crewe branch, Dennis Fricker together with volunteer Jenny Sadler came to a presentation afternoon to collect the money which was raised both at the Village's Summer Fayre and through a balloon race, where three hundred balloons were released on the afternoon of the Fayre with a prize of a family pass to Chester Zoo on offer.
A delighted Mr Fricker remarked “The amount raised was absolutely amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed the Summer Fayre and met lots of lovely people who all helped to make the event such a wonderful success. The money will go towards providing a specialist nurse to help people affected by Parkinsons."
