Nearly 30 people visited the new Mobile Library Service at Letcombe Regis during its first visit. The Library, which serves Letcombe Regis and neighbouring villages, will come every fortnight on alternate Thursdays (between 3.50 and 4.50pm). The next visit is on Thursday 4th November.

Richmond Northampton residents are looking forward to the annual display.
OnMonday 8th November 2010 the annual event will start at 6pm on the village green with many favourites such as Catherine wheels, roman candles and big display fireworks.
The event is very popular and very well attended, the residents were slightly disappointed that the use of sparklers this year is not permitted.
After the firework display a themed evening menu will be available in the Restaurant.

From 10.30am to 12.30pm, our main reception will be the venue for the Wantage Country Market, with its range of delicious locally produced baked goods, preserves, chutneys and home-grown garden produce. On Monday 15th November residents are invited for High tea and cakes in the Yellow Lounge with all donations going to St John’s ambulance.
One of the challenges is too knit a fancy tea cosy! St John Ambulance seeks 5,000 knitted tea cosies to help raise vital funds for their life saving work.

Come and do your Christmas shopping at the Sobell Christmas Gift Fair and support your local Hospice. The Fair is taking place at Radley College on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st November and will run from 10am to 5pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4.30pm on the Sunday. The cost of admission is £4.00 and £2.00 concessions. All money raised will go to support the Hospice. There will be over 60 stalls selling a variety of gifts, jewellery and accessories and staff from Richmond Letcombe Regis will also be there.
Sobell House Hospice provides palliative and end of life care to the residents of Oxfordshire.

Debbie Mercandelli, Hospitality Manager at Richmond Village Nantwich, was named Employee of the Year and the prestigous South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce awards held on Friday 19th November.
Debbie had to undergo a gruelling judging session to beat stiff competition from other employees across the South Cheshire region.
Village Manager, Lynne Griffin, nominated Debbie who has worked at Richmond Nantwich for the past 12 years as recognition of her dedication and hard work.

Richmond Letcombe Regis won the prestigious Gold Award for the Best Retirement Village at the WhatHouse Awards which took place at The Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday 19th November. The event is is looked upon as the Oscars of the housebuilding industry and is attended by over 1,000 people.
The picture shows Paddy Brice, Richmond Villages Managing Director, receiving the award from Jimmy Carr and James Sandbrook, Managing Director of House to Home who sponsored the award.
Paddy said after winning the award "This prestigious award recognises what we all know; that Richmond Letcombe Regis is the Best Retirement Village in the UK! I would like to thank all the staff at Richmond Letcombe Regis who have worked tirelessly since the opening in March. Without their hard work and dedication, awards such as this wouldn’t be possible."
Richmond Northampton residents are busy enjoying making Christmas cakes for the annual Barchester competition.
The residents all have their own special recipe which will be submitted with the cake along with pictures to demonstrate each stage of making and decorating!
Social & Recreational Therapist Christopher Rayatt-Howard is also entering a homemade Christmas cake for the village and will have a small scale model of Richmond Northampton on top of the cake made out of sugar paste and marzipan.

Richmond Northampton Remembrance supper club on Saturday 27th November 2010.
