Richmond Northampton residents now have access to allotments only five minutes’ walk from the village.
Twelve residents have a 30ft long plot for their use. Richmond Northampton’s gardener Nick Ives also has four plots and aims to grow fruit and vegetables for residents that like home grown but are not able to tend to an allotment plot.
All allotments have sheds and some residents even have fridges in the sheds and make a day out of it with Bar-Be-Que lunches and a glass of wine.
Resident Mr Crocker said “it’s great to have a garden allotment so nearby and it’s a great place to sit, relax with a glass of wine in the nice weather, the fruit and vegetable we grow taste so much better than shop brought”
