A new lease of life for Audrey and Teddy at Richmond Villages Nantwich
13th April 2021

Britain as a nation is well known for its love of dogs and here at Richmond Villages Nantwich, we are no different; walk around our grounds and you will no doubt bump into someone walking their dog!

For resident Audrey Samuels, keeping her 7-year-old Bichon Frise ‘Teddy’ with her when she moved to be nearer her family in Nantwich was the most important thing “I wouldn’t have come otherwise” she simply states.

Audrey moved from her family home in Solihull to the village 5 years ago at the age of 83. “I visited many times before I made the decision and I also stayed over for a few days, this meant I could experience exactly what village life would be like. It was, however, the ability to be able to bring Teddy that made my mind up”, she says, adding “I can honestly say I have never regretted it. I never feel lonely and I have made lots of friends – and Teddy has too. One of the highlights of our year is the annual dog show and whilst it couldn’t take place last year, we are hoping it can this year!”

For Audrey, and others like her, moving to the village meant a new lease of life – both for her and her beloved pet. For those considering moving, Audrey has this piece of advice “Just do it- you won’t regret it.”
