I'm married, have three fantastic children and have lived in the Cotswolds for over 30 years. I am the eldest son of a military man and as a result have had the privilege of living in many different countries, including the Far East, Africa and Europe. I have experienced truly wonderful and diverse cultures.
My background is hospitality based and I have experience in both operating premium quality care and facilities and hotel services. The most rewarding roles have been those of Registered Manager in a large private care home and at the other end of the spectrum that of Group Operations Director for a medium sized hotel company! I guess the reason that I enjoyed both roles was the level of contact I enjoyed with guests, employees and the wider community. I get a lot of satisfaction from spending time with those I serve, providing caring, quality services in the way that they are needed and expected.
My hobbies include cooking (when I get the chance) trying to grow flowers in my garden and domestic DIY - at least my wife tells me it's a hobby!
I am truly thrilled at having the opportunity to join Richmond Villages at Witney and can't wait to be part of this great new community.
Head of Care/Deputy Village Manager
I am extremely excited by be taking on this new roles as Head of Care/Deputy Village Manager at Richmond Witney.
My background and experience is as a qualified nurse in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. I have worked for Bupa Care Homes for over 20 years and as a Nursing Home Manager for the past 13 of those years.
My passion and drive is to ensure we establish Richmond Witney as the Home of choice for elderly care in the area and maintaining Richmond Villages' reputation for excellent quality and standards.
I am really looking forward to developing and nuturing a new team to deliver fantastic quality care and establish great friendly, trusting and lasting relationships with new residents and their famililes as well as the wider community.
Senior Village Adviser
This is now my 8th year working for Richmond Villages. I began working at our village in Letcombe Regis and was responsible for the off-plan sales prior to the village opening in 2010. I have now moved across to Witney to launch the off-plan sales here and look forward to meeting all the new people who are going to choose to come and join us.
I get a lot of job satisfaction from taking people from their initial enquiry and choosing their plot to moving into their new home. I have many years experience in the house buying and selling process and can offer invaluable advice to clients who have perhaps not moved house for 40 or even 50 years.
We have a Sales and Marketing Suite on the High Street (No.58) here in Witney and this will give potential purchasers a safe environment to come and visit us to find out more whilst construction is under way at the new village.
Our first residents moved into their new homes late 2015 and the main village and phase 2 is due to be completed by the end of 2016.
I joined Richmond Villages back in 2009 when the village at Letcombe Regis was under construction. It was great to see the Letcombe Regis village literally grow out of the ground and turn into the community it is now and new village at Witney is set to follow in the same way.
I enjoy being able to use the resources we have available to us in order to find the best retirement option for our residents. We can usually help people at all levels of retirement find what they are looking for.
I joined the team at Richmond Letcombe Regis in the Spring and since then have taken responsibility for managing 'Richmond Retreats' - our 'holidays with care' . Having worked in the care sector for several years, I have thoroughly enjoyed my time assisting our Richmond Retreat customers to organise their holidays with us and creating bespoke care packages which enable them to make the most of their stay.
I have lived in Witney for the past nine years so I'm now really looking forward to joining Richmond Witney at this exciting phase of it's development.
Over the coming months, I'm looking forward to being able to get know our new residents and to help them to settle into their lovely new homes.
Community Relations Manager
I am a recent addition to the Richmond Witney team, having started in March 2014 as the Community Relations Manager working three days a week alongside the Village Advisers.
As Community Relations Manager I will be networking with Witney's businesses and professionals to act as the main point of contact for the 'Witney Community'. This includes attending networking meetings such as Witney's Big Breakfast, the Buttercross Luncheon Clubs, participating in Witney Chamber of Commerce events and liaising with Community health professionals and GP surgeries.
So far every day has been different from tweeting and blogging to organising charity events and helping out at Open Days.
To keep abreast of all our forthcoming events and the development of the Richmond Witney village, follow us on twitter @RVLet.
Head of Maintenance
For the last thirteen years I have been managing properties and buildings within the healthcare sector.
I will be leading a small team of staff who ensure that the buildings, equipment and grounds are well maintained at all times. I will also be responsible for a team of drivers, the procurement of materials, organising specialist external contractors and supervising their work.
My role as Head of Maintenance can be very varied and at present I am helping our new residents to settle into their homes.
I consider it a privilege to be a part of the Richmond Villages brand and am looking forward to the completion of the Village. The development and growth of the Village will provide a sense of 'home' for all those who have chosen to be a part of the Village at Richmond Witney.
