I'm married, have three fantastic children and have lived in the Cotswolds for over 30 years. I am the eldest son of a military man and as a result have had the privilege of living in many different countries, including the Far East, Africa and Europe. I have experienced truly wonderful and diverse cultures.
My background is hospitality based and I have experience in both operating premium quality care and facilities and hotel services. The most rewarding roles have been those of Registered Manager in a large private care home and at the other end of the spectrum that of Group Operations Director for a medium sized hotel company! I guess the reason that I enjoyed both roles was the level of contact I enjoyed with guests, employees and the wider community. I get a lot of satisfaction from spending time with those I serve, providing caring, quality services in the way that they are needed and expected.
My hobbies include cooking (when I get the chance) trying to grow flowers in my garden and domestic DIY - at least my wife tells me it's a hobby!
I am truly thrilled at having the opportunity to join Richmond Villages at Witney.

I have lived in Witney for 30 years and still love living here.

Senior Village Adviser
I joined Richmond Villages in February 2009. I began my career with Richmond Villages working at our village in Letcombe Regis and was responsible for the off-plan sales prior to the village opening in 2010. I then moved across to Witney in May 2014 to launch the off-plan sales for Witney.
I get a lot of job satisfaction from taking people from their initial enquiry and choosing their plot to moving into their new home. I have many years experience in the house buying and selling process and can offer invaluable advice to clients who have perhaps not moved house for 40 or even 50 years.
The village here in Witney is now fully built and operational, we have a 61 nursing care home which has now opened and we are now settling in our new residents to their homes.
My main professional background is within the Domiciliary Care industry, in which I managed an agency for nearly 9 years. I helped the company develop a good reputation for its wonderful support to the local community in the West Oxfordshire area.
Richmond Villages was very appealing to me for the exceptional range of services it offers to its residents. Suffice to say I was very eager to be part of the team!
I’ve been made to feel very welcome at Richmond Witney by both the staff and the residents and I look forward to having a long relationship with everyone.

Wellness Spa Manager
Richmond Villages and Bupa's ethos was a real drawing factor for me in applying for my role as Wellness Spa Manager.. I have an amazing team in the Wellness Spa at Richmond Witney, each with their own individual talents. I am really looking forward to the imminent launch and all the amazing offers, deals, and events we will be hosting in the Spa at Witney this year, as my team and I have so much to offer. We welcome both our residents and outside members to come and experience the amazing facilities we have on offer.
Community Relations Manager
I am a recent addition to the Richmond Witney team, having started in March 2014 as the Community Relations Manager working three days a week alongside the Village Advisers.
As Community Relations Manager I will be networking with Witney's businesses and professionals to act as the main point of contact for the 'Witney Community'. This includes attending networking meetings such as Witney's Big Breakfast, the Buttercross Luncheon Clubs, participating in Witney Chamber of Commerce events and liaising with Community health professionals and GP surgeries.
So far every day has been different from tweeting and blogging to organising charity events and helping out at Open Days.

Head of Activities
I was very excited to be appointed as Head of Activities at Richmond Villages Witney in November 2016. My most recent job was as a teacher at a school for children with autism, planning and delivering a programme of curriculum lessons and activities to suit each childs individual needs. Now I will be working at the other end of the age scale
and am looking forward to planning events, activities, clubs and days out for all our residents here at Richmond Witney.
As a child, I was fortunate to spend some time living in Uganda and Malawi and had the opportunity to experience different cultures and meet people of many various nationalities.
I am keen to ensure that all our residents are able to enjoy activities which are meaningful, stimulating and fun – and that will help them live longer, happier, healthier lives.
I joined Richmond Villages back in 2009 when the village at Letcombe Regis was under construction. It was great to see the Letcombe Regis village literally grow out of the ground and turn into the community it is now and new village at Witney is set to follow in the same way.
I enjoy being able to use the resources we have available to us in order to find the best retirement option for our residents. We can usually help people at all levels of retirement find what they are looking for.
I joined Richmond Letcombe Regis in March 2015 as a Village Adviser and moved across to join the team at Witney in September 2015. I have lived in Witney for the last 10 years and it’s great to be able to live and work in the same town.
One of the highlights of my role is working with residents and their families to find the right accommodation and associated support package that suits their individual requirements. It’s a privilege to work at Richmond Witney and to feel that we are able to help people to make the most of their later years
I’ve been involved with Landscape Construction and Gardening for the past 25 years and joined Richmond Village Witney in July 2016.
Previously I’ve been part of a team working on various sizes Commercial and Private Projects, creating high standard fabulous gardens around Southern England.
I’m looking forward to our Village developing in the future and building a rapport with the Residents to provide a relaxing environment for all.
I’m married with 3 children and have lived in and around Witney all my life. My hobbies include Sports, Cooking and World Cinema.
Senior Specialist Dementia Nurse
Hello, my name is Laura Ellison and I’m the dementia specialist nurse at Richmond Witney. I qualified as a nurse in 2012 from Anglia Ruskin University and have until recently worked at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford on a medical ward for the elderly.
I have always been passionate about dementia care in fact; I began my care career working for Bupa as a care assistant in 2007. I would love to spend some time here promoting meaningful activities to aid memory and encourage fun and relaxation for the residents on Mulberry Dementia Nursing.
I think it’s important for people to understand how it’s entirely possible to live a fulfilled lifestyle with dementia, and for residents to feel included in their community.
I was born in Argentina where I lived for many years and worked as a Primary teacher for 21 years which I enjoyed very much. My husband and I, together with our four children, then moved to Madrid and lived there for eleven years.
Five years ago we decided to move to England. I started to work at Richmond Witney as Head Housekeeper in October 2016. It is a privilege to be part of Richmond Villages.
