Richmond Painswick has a 24 en-suite bedroom Care Home providing 24 hour nursing care. The Care Home is monitored and registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). CQC is the independent body that regularly inspects all care homes in England.

The Care Home at Richmond Painswick has been recognised by carehome.co.uk which is the largest online care home directory, by being awarded 'Top 20 Recommended Care Home 2015'. The carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home Awards 2015 highlight the most recommended Care Homes in each region of the UK. The Awards are based on over 45,000 Recommendations received from Residents and Family / Friends of Residents during 2014.

With only 24 rooms, the Care Home at Richmond Painswick has a real boutique feel about it. Unlike larger care homes, the care team really do know all the residents and, due to this, are able to build strong relationships. Residents are able to use all the Village facilities – how many other care homes could boast a Wellness Spa! – plus have the benefit of their own restaurant, lounge and terraced garden.

See our Care Home page to find out what makes a Richmond Village care home different to a normal care home.

Respite care

Respite stays are always short-term. Having said that, the relationships they build between the village and resident give great reassurance to all concerned, especially if a longer stay ever becomes necessary. Respite care is also ideal for those who are well enough to leave hospital but not yet well enough to return home. We offer respite care within our Village Suites or within our care home if you require nursing care.

What does it cost?

As no two people are the same, our Village Adviser can advise you of the cost once the level of care and the length of stay you require has been established. In all circumstances, the fee will include any care provision, a comprehensive social activities programme, all meals and hotel and laundry services.

My wife and I are very pleased with the care home. All staff and management, cleaners, café workers, very helpful. We have had a very enjoyable short stay. Meals were excellent and also satisfying. Hope to come again sometime. Thank you all.

Helpful, caring staff who take a personal interest in their charges: Clean, well-presented premises with excellent facilities. The care presented extends from sole independent care by the individual to partial overnight, to total overnight care, as required and necessary. The care of the individual is given paramount consideration.

My mother happily spent her final 5 years at Richmond Painswick. As she entered her 90th year she needed a lot more care and this was beautifully managed by the domiciliary team. She was treated with dignity and kindness and we the family were kept informed of her changing needs on a regular basis. Her health declined in her final few weeks and she moved into the nursing home. Those final weeks were managed with great professionalism and kindness from the nursing team. I was welcomed to be with her during her final days and her passing was managed with great kindness and skilled medical care. I am extremely grateful to the administrative, nursing, and domiciliary team for their care of my mother, and for the daily visits of the cleaning and catering staff, all of whom brightened her day .

Mum (93) really enjoyed her stay at Richmond Painswick. She has been able to stay while we have had a week's holiday for a number of years and I can go away confident that she is being well cared for, that her surroundings are very comfortable and that the activities offered are all of interest to her.

Richmond Painswick is in a beautiful location. The main building feels more like a high-class hotel than a care home. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I have always found the food to be of a very high standard although my mother sometimes complains. This may be because she does not fully understand the menu and has difficulty making decisions. The staff always help her and make suggestions if necessary.
