I took up the challenge as Village Manager in May 2009 and oversee the quality of service delivery in our Independent and Assisted Living apartments and our registered Nursing Care Home.

Working with external partners and our skilled and dedicated teams of staff, I aim to deliver person centred and varied services to our residents and their family of the highest quality.

At Richmond Northampton we are passionate about delivering the best within a beautiful yet comfortable setting. Anything that is important to our residents and staff is important to me and I look forward to welcoming you.

I joined Richmond Northampton in May 2009 as the Registered Domiciliary Manager and Deputy Village Manager then in April 2010 I added to that  by becoming the Registered Manager of the Nursing Home as well. I help to support the Village Manager to ensure high quality delivery of services to our residents and in particular I oversee the running of the care services ensuring that we meet and exceed CQC standards and regulations.

One of my favourite parts of my role is going out to meet people in their homes before they move to Richmond and complete assessments of their needs; I have the opportunity then to answer any questions people have and to help reassure them before they move into the Village.

My team of dedicated care staff work hard to ensure that people living here experience a high quality lifestyle and I am proud to work with them as their manager.

My role since I started working for Richmond Northampton in October 2007 prior to the village opening, has been that of Administrator.  As the village has grown, the Administrator role has been divided and I am now solely responsible for the HR administration side of the department.  This includes payroll - the inputting of weekly hours onto the system and sending reports to Head Office and the Village Manager. It also involves reporting sickness and absence of staff and dealing with accordingly.  My role also involves constructing and maintaining staff personnel files and ensuring all documentation prior to commencement and during employment is obtained.

I am also responsible for the smooth running of reception and ensuring that the staff who carry out this role deal with any queries and calls in a friendly and professional manner.

I enjoy working at Richmond Northampton very much and have enjoyed watching the village grow and develop and I value the friendship of all who work and live there!!!

Lesley Mason - Senior Village Adviser

Valerie Nyawara – Village Adviser

My role as Senior Village Adviser is to promote the lifestyle of the village through networking within the local/wider community in order to encourage enquiries about our Assisted Living/Village apartments and Care home.

We hope that after reading about us on our website, you will want to visit our lovely village.  During your visit our aim will be to find out as much as possible about your needs or the needs of the person you are enquiring on behalf of and agree the best way forward.

If you decide that the best option is to purchase an Assisted living or Village apartment my colleague, Valerie, will support you through the legal process from the placing of the deposit to completion of the purchase; our aim is to make the process as easy as possible as we understand that any move can be quite stressful particularly if you have lived in your current property for a number of years.

We also arrange respite breaks in both our Assisted living apartments and our Care home, some people have been back every year since we opened in 2007, I think they enjoy catching up with the staff and other residents!!

If you are not sure that “village life” is for you we can arrange for you to stay in one of our apartments for a week or two so that you could really experience what it would be like to live here permanently.

Both Val and I started at Richmond Northampton during the construction phase some 4 years ago so we are the “oldest” or should I say “most experienced” members of staff here.  We hope you will want to come and see us and if you would like to come for a show round and a complimentary lunch you would be most welcome.

We look forward to meeting you soon

I have worked at Richmond Northampton from the beginning firstly in Domiciliary care and now activities. It has been great to meet the first ever residents and then to watch the village grow into the thriving village we have today.

My role is to organise the activities for the independent Village apartments and the Assisted living apartments and to oversee the care home activities. I encourage everyone to participate in the busy activities schedule on a daily basis. I promote the activities with residents, friends and family tand I  ensure that I have full knowledge of the residents likes, dislikes, interests and abilities.

I issue a monthly newsletter to promote the activities  and encourage everyone to join in. Each month I run a themed Supper Club, Quiz Nights, Social nights with entertainment & Film nights.

I am always looking at new ideas for activities that are requested or suggested day trips etc.

I love working for Richmond Northampton and have come to think of the residents as extended family & friends and hope that after reading this you to would like to come and visit us for coffee!
