Richmond Nantwich is situated on the edge of the Elizabethan Market town of Nantwich,
which hosts many events throughout the year. One such event is the Nantwich Food Festival which is one of the few UK food festivals based entirely within a town centre – and what a town centre it is!
Nantwich has one of the largest collections of historic buildings in Cheshire, with Elizabethan, Georgian and Victorian architecture throughout its town centre. The 14th Century St Marys Church is considered by some to be one of the finest medieval churches in the whole of England. The narrow streets are full of independent shops, selling a wide variety of food, wine, and much more as well as a lively community of coffee shops, restaurants and bars.
This year the Festival will be held over the weekend of 2nd September with celebrated chef Nigel Brown entertaining food fans as he cooks a wide range of tasty recipes. In addition there will be a Chilli Cook-off Competition with the chilli with the highest score winning entry into the UK Chilli cooking final at Upton Cheyney PLUS entry into the World Chilli Championship in Orange Beach Alabama for a possible prize of $35000!
If all this isn’t enough to tempt then what about meeting the 2016 winner of the Great British Bake Off - Candice Brown who will be showcasing delicious, decadent foods.
Why not see if you can come and stay with us on a short break and enjoy the Food Festival at the same time?
