Richmond Nantwich turn vintage for Show

Richmond Nantwich turn vintage for Show

The Nantwich Show and International Cheese Awards are held every year on the last Wednesday in July on beautiful parklands on the edge of the town.

This year the show will be on Wednesday 26th July and Richmond Nantwich will be there with its own Vintage Tea Marquee serving complimentary refreshments and delicious homemade cakes, plus a chance to rest your weary legs!

The show is the largest cheese show in the world, showcasing over 4,500 entries of every type of cheese you could think of plus celebrity chefs James Martin, Will Holland and Sean Wilson will be undertaking live cookery demonstrations throughout the day. In addition there will be over 450
trade stands, with something for everyone whether it be clothes, tractors or new cars. The Shopping and Craft Marquee and Food Hall will offer a huge range of all that is best to taste and purchase.

The Countryside pursuits Area is packed all day with ring displays and demonstrations and there is an expanding vintage vehicle section which offers a nostalgic look back at motoring from a bygone age.

With public catering, licensed bars and entertainment to name but a few (plus of course our marquee!) there is truly something for the whole family!

Vintage Tea Room at Nantwich Show

Vintage Tea Room at Nantwich Show

The Nantwich Show is such a popular event and just gets bigger and bigger every year! But when you have admired the World’s Biggest Cheese Show (and perhaps tried a sample or two!), watched a celebrity chef like James Martin create delicious dishes for your delectation and visited the marquees full of home-grown produce and tempting stalls (not to mention the Competitions, Trade Stands, Horse Jumping and fabulous fair) you will definitely need a sit down and welcome drink – and maybe even a slice of homemade cake!

Richmond Nantwich to the rescue! Why not visit us on Stand 72 in our  Vintage Tea Room for just that – oh and great company too! It’s all complimentary and dogs are welcome! We are located near to the main pedestrian entrance so don’t be shy – come and say hello!

We look forward to seeing you!

All Aboard!

All Aboard!

Residents and staff are getting ready to board the good ship Richmond Nantwich as we set sail on Thursday 27th July as part of Richmond Village’s annual competition.

All seven villages are challenged with creating an exciting day full of fun and laughter and plans are well underway to do just that! Residents have been making, painting, cutting and creating lots of different things that we are keeping under wraps – just in case the other Villages try to copy (we
are so competitive!). As a taster there may be jungle critters, gelato and hula dancers!

Keep an eye on our Facebook page - facebook.com/richmondnantwich and make a date to come aboard! And remember – you are very welcome to come along and see it all first hand. Just call us on 01270 629080

All Aboard - the Ship's Timetable

All Aboard - the Ship's Timetable

Ahoy me shipmates" , why not come on board and join us for a celebration of travel on 27th July aboard the Maiden Voayge of The Good Ship Richmond. Cruise along with us as we take a voyage around the world in just one day!

See the sight of India, eat an ice cream in Italy and dodge pirates in the Caribbean. Take part in a bush tucker challenge down under and see the city that never sleeps.

It's an early start with Mayor Arthur Moran casting us off at 10.30am by judging paintings from the children of Leighton Academy. They will be on display in the Garden Room along with works from the Wednesday morning art group. Please do come along and perhaps choose your favourites!

Next up the children from the Little Angels Nursery will be arriving to set sail with us at 11.00am. They will be visiting each country and getting their passports stamped - if you would like to like help please do get in touch!

Outside weather permitting our deck game will be Croquet - if you have not played before come along to have a go and join in the fun.

The afternoon activities start at 2:15 with our choir "The Richmond Singers" taking us on a voyage with nautical themed songs. Expect melodies from "Showboat", HMS Pinafore and many more.

Dining is always a big part of any cruise and our wonderful hospitality team will be making some delicious cakes for us to enjoy in the afternoon, washed down by your choice of beverage as you relax on the sun-deck.

Things then turn a little darker as murder most foul is committed - but by whom?  Our short play "Murder On The High Seas" will help you to discover who killed the ships Captain. Listen to the plot and see if you can decide "Whodunnit!". Could it be Elizabeth Pearson (The Captain's wife), William Earnshaw (Chief Officer), Catherine Earnshaw (his wife), Pamela Davies (Captains Secretary) or Dr. Ian Jackson (The Ship's Doctor). Who is it that really wants the Captain to "Walk the Plank".

Everyone is welcome to join us for a day full of fun so climb aboard me hearties and let's set sail!

Seaside Trip Anyone?

Seaside Trip Anyone?

At Richmond Nantwich we have a fantastic range of activities including trips out.

Recently we took some of our residents to Llandudno for a day at the seaside where they enjoyed delicious Fish & Chips for lunch followed by an ice cream on the pier. It may have been a bit windy but everyone enjoyed themselves and it certainly blew the cobwebs away!

Stick of rock anyone?...
