My career path has followed a strange curve from growing up in the pub and hospitality industry in North Oxford (where I spent the majority of my years), training as a chef, running my own catering business, and managing a large Guest house, specialising elderly services for large companies UK wide. My University years focussed on Property Management, Leasehold, rentals, home ownership and legal matters within property and staffing. This led me to manage a team of Housing Managers, and more recently, before I came to Bede Village, I had a large team of Managers of sheltered property, Extra Care and Care homes, operating nationally.
I now live in Rugeley with my partner Ant, and my 2 little yorkies that I am really looking forward to introducing to the Village. I have lived in Rugeley for the past 5 years and really enjoy the life of the small ex mining town. We are often out on Cannock Chase with the dogs.
I am a very family orientated person and enjoy nothing more than cooking and entertaining our families as often as I can.
Bede village is a busy place and is very warm and welcoming. I am committed to listening to our residents and villagers, and carry out a plan of continuous reviews to ensure that we at Bede Village are not only ensuring the safety, welfare and happiness of those living and working here is relevant to today, but that we are in keeping with the times and will be ready for whatever the future holds.
Deputy Village Manager & Senior Village Advisor
As deputy village manager I am responsible alongside the general manager for providing support to our villagers, residents and staff. Bede village incorporates independent living, assisted living, general nursing, supported living and young physical disability.
As Senior Village Advisor I am responsible for all aspects of selling care beds, care services and properties within the village, managing the process from start to finish. I support potential villagers in deciding the best type of accomodation and care to suit that individuals needs and requirements, often this also involves dealing with Solicitors, Estate Agents or Health Officials to make the move as stress free as possible.
Registered Clinical Manager

I am the Registered Manager for the 47 bedded nursing home within Richmond Bede Village. I previously worked within Richmond as a Qualified Nurse and I feel that it is really important to ensure that all of our Residents receive High standards of person centred care at all times, delivered safely with dignity and respect. We are routinely inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and it is important that all inspections go well and reflect the excellent standard of care we deliver.
As part of my role, when a resident is looking to come into the care home I will visit them to assess their needs to ensure that we can meet those needs, this helps to give the Nursing staff the information needed to implement a care plan. I arrange admissions and discharges for the care home. I also work within the team to ensure that staff have regular supervisions, training and staff meetings to maintain morale and ensure that they feel supported to deliver high standards of care. From the point of pre-admission assessment myself and my team of staff build relationships with the residents and families to ensure that they get the care that they want. We also have good working relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team who visit often and work alongside the staff at Richmond to continuously review the needs of our residents.
Domiciliary Care Manager
I joined Richmond Bede Village in August 2014, as the Domiciliary Care Manager.
Following university, my working career started with people with learning disabilities for Coventry City Council, as a Day Centre Officer and a Residential Social Worker.
This was proceeded by 15 years of working in Children’s Services within the Youth Justice System. As a Head of Care I became accustomed to working within the constraints of the CQC, Ofsted and other similar regulatory frameworks.
Seeking a new challenge, yet wanting to remain in people services I have sought a diversified career in working with a more mature population – hence my application to Richmond Bede
I am looking forward to new experiences and the challenges ahead.
Village Advisor and Activities Manager
I advise on properties and care bed services within the village, interacting with prospective clients regarding the sale and purchase of properties, and the availability of care beds within the care centre. Liaising with solicitors and estate agents, showing clients around the village and discussing their needs.
I am also responsible for overseeing activities and events within the Village, networking within the wider community, and writing press releases.

My role as Administration Manager is very varied. I am responsible for the day to day running of the Reception area and Administration office. On the Reception side this involves ensuring that our Residents get the best possible Customer Service and that we exceed their expectations wherever possible - going that extra mile to ensure that they feel cared for and that they can rely on us as a team to help them with their needs. Alongside this we provide support to various other departments within the building where possible.
As far as the Administration side of it goes, this is quite in depth overall but includes things such as ensuring that the Administration office runs smoothly and efficiently, making sure that all deadlines are met relating to the accounts and payroll and that all resident and staff queries are answered within an acceptable time frame, whilst providing regular updates and financial information to both the Village Manager and Head Office for the monthly reporting. All information and contracts held on file for staff and residents must be kept up to date.
Head of Housekeeping
I have worked within Richmond Bede Village for many years as head of housekeeping; I really enjoy my job and I am happy to take any comments on board in relation to the service.
I am responsible for ensuring all areas of the Village are clean, tidy and presentable at all times in
accordance with cleaning schedules. To provide laundry services to the home with full regard to infection control policies and procedures. To ensure that every resident enjoys clean and well maintained laundry and that this is presented to a high standard and that satisfaction levels remain high.
I am responsible for a team of staff who carry out all housekeeping and laundry duties and ensure that they follow company policies.
I try to ensure at all times my team are courteous, confidential and respectful to residents, visitors and staff at all times to ensure that the housekeeping service is of the highest quality possible.
As Maintenance Manager my day varies from unblocking a drain, to making arrangements for long term maintenance to changing lightbulbs.
I am responsible for a small team of staff, but also for any external labour that may come on to site, to ensure that they follow health and safety procedures and maintain a high standard of work.
