A better way to get better

Post Operative Care and Respite Care are two very good reasons why many people also benefit from a short stay in one of our villages. Our Convalescent Care Programme is a service specifically created to enable the best possible recuperation after periods of illness or after an operation. Richmond Villages also offers vital short-term respite care, meaning you can rest assured that your loved one will benefit from a break, as much as you will enjoy your well-earned time off.

Convalescence

A Richmond Village is possibly the most perfect place to recuperate after an operation or illness. The pace of life in our care villages is reassuringly comfortable. Set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens, the facilities in the villages are many and varied. For those who are able, there is also a full calendar of social events so it's a great place to make new friends too. In all they are an excellent alternative to home help or other after care.

Richmond Villages now has a number of self-contained Assisted Living Apartments designated solely for short term convalescent care. Each Assisted Living Apartment benefits from a bedroom, bathroom, galley kitchen and sitting room equipped with flat screen TV and DVD player. Assisted bathing facilities are available as well as transport for trips out and for any doctor's and hospital appointments. All meals, laundry and cleaning are taken care of and if extra help is required, our domiciliary care agency can tailor a care package to suit each individual. Short term guests can join in with any of the village activities and are welcome to make use of all the facilities. All our villages have a hairdressing salon, health and beauty therapy, a restaurant, a cafés, elegant public lounges and stunning gardens. Some even have a bowling green or a swimming pool and spa.

Respite Care

If you care for an elderly family member, the value of quality respite care can never be underestimated. Carers should never feel guilty about taking a break. Not only will it help avoid stressful situations, it does wonders for morale. The renewed levels of patience and energy a break gives you is essential to continuing in a caring role. At Richmond Care Villages we understand this more than most. Whilst our beautiful, purpose-built villages are a permanent home for many retired people, we also have the facility to accommodate those elderly people who need or want to give their normal carer a well earned break. They too can enjoy a change of environment and a chance to make new friends.

Rest assured. A respite stay at a Richmond Village will give the person you normally care for the very best of service. They will benefit from a 'holiday' amongst friendly and welcoming staff and residents, a nice change if they normally live alone. And although respite stays are short term (normally not more than four weeks) the good relationships that are formed between patients and staff are very reassuring to all should a longer stay at the Care home ever become necessary. A short stay at a Richmond Village is also an ideal solution for those who are well enough to leave hospital but not yet well enough to go home.

Our aim is to provide seamless continuity of elderly care and our well-trained and qualified staff work hard to ensure that everyone's personal desires and preferences are respected. You are most welcome to visit any of our villages and experience our friendly hospitality for yourself. In any event, prior to admission, you will need to meet the Head of Care either at your own home or at the village. The Head of Care can then assess your individual needs and tailor a care plan to suit you.
