On Friday 8th July, Richmond Nantwich will be celebrating
all things British as a month long diary of activities and events comes to a
close on “Best of British” Day.
Whether it is a Red Phone Box or a good cup of tea; a London
taxi or the Royal Family; a newspaper full of fish and chips or a Town Crier, there
is something that instantly says “British” to us all and we are trying to capture
this throughout the Village and Care Home.
Plans are already underway for a display at the entrance to
the Village and also the grassed area to the rear of the Care Home, with staff
and residents working together to transform the area into a traditional Village
Tea Party resplendent with maypole, giant tea pot and cake stand. Menus are
being planned that reflect British Food at its delicious best - although these
are being kept top secret till the day when the judges arrive!
We are hoping that Richmond Nantwich, who will be competing
with other Richmond Villages, will win the “Best of British” Crown and in true
British style we are asking residents, staff, friends and family to pull
together and create a winning British experience for everyone to enjoy!
There is also a competition that YOU can enter - then get baking, making and decorating! You can contact the competition organiser Jane-Ann Stubbs by calling 01270 629080 or e mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
