A Warwickshire retirement village opened its door to the neighbours recently and asked them to come along to help raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Richmond Bede Village, situated in Hospital Lane, Bedworth held an open day and tea party in aid of the worthy cause. As part of the fund raising, Activity Organiser Mel-Sue Walton encouraged residents and visitors to donate money and in return, would SHAVE HER HEAD!!
Louise Smith, Activities Manager at Richmond Village said “Whilst we do primarily provide residential and care services for older people our residents do play an active part in the local community. We often invite the public to pop in and join us to help raise money for such worthy causes; we would like to thank everyone for their continued support. And special thanks to Mel-Sue... we’re looking forward to her next whacky fund raising ideas that continue to keep our residents entertained!”
Richmond Village were able to present just over £500 to Kate McGrory, Community Fundraiser at Marie Curie. Presenting the cheque to Kate is newly acquired ‘hedgehog haired’ Mel-Sue Walton.
