Roof Appeal Target Accomplished by pulling together as one Community

Richmond Villages Letcombe Regis, pleased to announce their association with St Andrew’s Church Letcombe Regis by coming together to raise finances for their roof appeal. The appeal target is £40K to help with the substantial repairs to the church roof, tower, pathways, electrics and churchyard wall.

Richmond Letcombe Regis held a“Fireworks Night of Celebration” event on November 5th at 5.15pm. It was a great success in raising £324.00 for the Church roof appeal and the numbers of people attending were way beyond our expectation, turning out on a cold frosty evening to enjoy spectacular firework display in the grounds of the retirement village.
Derek Maurice, Churchwarden of St Andrew’s Church said “We have now reached our appeal target and the response from Richmond Villages Directors was immediate, not only did they make a substantial financial donation to our appeal, but they also offered the use of the Lodge Café and the main Restaurant for free and to provide actual help in organising fund raising events.

Wendy Middleton Community Relations Manager said” The residents of Richmond Letcombe Regis and of Letcombe Regis have collectively pulled together as one community to raise a brilliant total of £2,160.00 for St Andrews Church roof repairs”. “It was a pleasure to hold and hosted three fundraising events throughout the summer and autumn, the first event was a
Champagne and Wine Tasting evening raising £410.00, followed by a Night at Richmond Village Races a further £426.00 was raised and the finale was a Night of Celebration with a fantastic Firework display raising an additional £324.00 and with receiving a donation of £1,000, resulted in a ultimate sum of £2,160.00 raised for St Andrews Church Roof Appeal”.

On behalf of us at St Andrews Church we would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone at Richmond Letcombe Regis and the village of Letcombe Regis with helping us to
reach our appeal target.
