The ‘Knit and Natter’ Group in the Care Home recently received a lovely letter from ‘knit a square’, a charity working in South Africa helping make vulnerable children warm . Last year we sent some little jumpers for premature babies, knitted by residents with the help of volunteer Barbara who gives up her time to attend Knit and Natter each week. This February we are calling on ALL residents/staff who can knit to give up some time to knit a square. These will be sent over to South Africa and made into blankets for vulnerable or orphaned children. Squares must be 20 x 20cm (8x8in), they can be fancy or simple. Each blanket uses 35 squares!. All knitting equipment can be provided at knit and natter sessions so you just need to turn up and ‘knit a square’.
Knit and Natter is held in the Care Home every Wednesday at 2.30pm
