Reviews - Hosted by Christopher Biggins, the show features special guests Gareth Thomas, Matt Lapinskas and Beth Tweddle from the current series of Dancing On Ice, celebrity ice skater Kyran Bracken and the irrepressible Chico, with more guests to be announced.

Be dazzled by breathtaking and extravagant skating routines, as well as death-defying aerial acrobats, juggling, circus tricks, singing, audience participation and laughter in abundance.

New Health Walk Group at Richmond Northampton

Richmond Northampton residents will have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of walking as we start a new group called "Walking for Health".

Walk leaders Christopher Rayatt-Howard and Lorraine Adams will lead the walks around Grange Park every Monday at 2pm.

The walk will last roughly an hour and will finish at Richmond Northampton for Tea & Coffee in the Coffee Shop.

Everyone is welcome to attend including the local community of  Grange Park. So best foot forward and meet us at the Reception gates every Monday at 2.00pm.

This year residents and staff will be taking part in this annual event being held at Abington Park, Northampton.

Team name "Richmond Rubies" will walk the 5K route around the park given those that are not so mobile the opportunity to take part in this fun day. We are raising money to fund ground breaking research into new drugs and treatments.

Summer Pots & Baskets at Richmond Northampton

Northampton residents will take part in a Summer pots and baskets session today at 2.00pm in the Craft room.

They will be able to choose either a Hanging Basket or Pot for their balconies, with a selection of summer flowering plants to choose from, no balcony will be left without a dazzling display of summer colour.

Costs to be confirmed on the day and if you have a pot or basket of your own choice please feel free to bring it along with you.

The Antiques Road Show

Thursday 13 June

Residents of Richmond Painswick will have the chance to go the the Antiques Roadshow at Cirencester Agricultural College. 

Some of Britains leading antiques and fine art specialists will be on hand to offer ffree advice and valuations to visitors, who are invited to take along their family heirlooms and household treasures for inspection by the experts. 

The show is open from 9.30 - 4.30 and it is free admission.

Painswick got to see production of "Sweet Charity"

Amateur dramatic group the Cotswold Players are performing at the Playhouse in Stroud.

"Sweet Charity" Thursday 13 June Show starts at 7.30pm

This vibrant and colourful show tells the story of Charity Hope Valentine and her search both for a new job to take her away from the Dance Hall in which she works and for a man to love and cherish her.

The show opened in London in 1967 starring Juliet Prowse, was followed by a film starring Shirley McLaine and recently performed in London with Jill Halfpenny playing the lead.

The characters are well-drawn and the music by Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields is lively and interesting and includes 'Hey Big Spender', 'Rhythm of Life', 'If They Could See Me Now' and 'I'm a Brass Band'.

Strawberry Picking trip at Richmond Northampton.

Today Northampton residents will be visiting a local "Pick Your Own" Farm in Geddington, Northamptonshire.

Residents will be able to have tea and coffee in the farm’s tea rooms before going to pick strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and various vegetables!

This is an ideal day visit as the fruit is grown on waist height benches so no bending down necessary. If the residents wanted to just sit back and enjoy the views of the lovely open country then they can buy ready picked fruit and vegetables from the farm shop.

When everyone has finished picking fruit the next stop is "The Trading Post" at Kettering for a superb Carvery Lunch!

Who said retirement can't be fun!

The Proms at Richmond Nantwich with Foden's Brass Band

The Last Night of The Proms is coming to Richmond Nantwich on Saturday 15th June as we welcome the Award Winning Foden's Brass Band to play all the traditional favourites including "Land of Hope & Glory" and "Rule Britannia".

The evening will start at 6.30pm and guests are invited to bring their own picnics, blankets and, dependent on the weather, umbrellas plus all things traditional; flags, blowers, Union Jack hats, it's all welcome!

The evening will culminate in the grand final with fireworks so be ready for a fantastic night of music and fun!

"The Audience" Roses Theatre Trip for Richmond Painswick

Residents will be able to see a screened version of the stage play, "The Audience" at the Roses Theatre,  Tewkesbury.

Helen Mirren reprises her Academy Award winning role as Queen Elizabeth 11 in this production of The Audience.  For sixty years Elizabeth 11 has met each  of her twelve Prime Ministers in a weekly audience at Buckingham Palace - a meeting like no other in British public life - it is private. Both parties have an unspoken agreement never to repeat waht is said.  Not even to their spouses.  The Audience breaks this contract of silence - and imagines a series of pivotal meetings between the Downing Street imcumbents and their Queen.

The Richmond Proms

Richmond Village Nantwich is getting ready to welcome the world famous Fodens Brass Band this Saturday 15th June as the Village stages its inagrual Proms Night.

Set in the beautiful grounds of the Village, the Band will play all the favourites from The Last Night of the Proms and guests are invited to dress in red. white and blue and bring their flags!

Seating will be provided and delicious food is on offer in the form of gourmet picnics or hot roast baps. A rug to keep warm should it be a little nippy is a suggestion! Parking will be on Regents Park at the entrance to St Jospehs Way and then it is only a short walk up to The Courtyard where the event is being staged.

The evening will end with a grand firework display from Blitz Fireworks.

Residents thoroughly enjoy the dances and have improved on their moves tremendously since starting in June 2011.

We have many ladies that attend but are always in need of more men, so please come along.

Richmond Northampton is taking part in the National Care Home Open Day, however we are making it a weekend of entertainment and information.

Friday 21st June will be Care Home Open Day we would like to invite you to a fantastic day in helping to dispell the myths about care homes.   Activities of the day including a BBQ Lunch, "Singing for the Brain" sessions by the Alzheimer's Society, craft session, Meet a representative from the MS Society and the "Fall Team" from Northampton General Hospital.  We will be displaying our residents Art and Craft work along with pictures and scrapbooks of residents taking part in the many wonderful activities throughout their stay at Northampton.

On Saturday 22nd June we will host an "Open day and Summer Fete" starting at 11am in the Village Centre.  This will give everyone an opportunity to view our village apartments and facilities as well as the added bonus of a summer fete.  There will be various activities and attractions during the day including a Bouncy Castle, Face painting, Hog Roast, raffle and tombola and stalls selling homemade food and gifts.  Musical entertainment will be provided by Simon Moxham - Saxophonist. The day will be very busy and we hope the weather will be nice enough to finish the day with Afternoon Tea on the Village Green.

Baby Basics join Coffee Morning

Richmond Northampton welcome Baby Basics to their Coffee Morning. Baby Basics are coming to do a short presentation to our Residents on the work they do.

Baby Basics is a new initiative dedicated to helping and providing basic support to pregnant and new mums who are left with little or nothing just before and after they give birth.  Baby Basics work with health professionals to provide much needed items for vulnerable families.  They provide starter packs for those in need consisting of moses baskets filled with toiletries, blankets, towels and baby clothes.  They also provide other second-hand, but good quality, equipment that is collected from donors in the community, such as push chairs, cots and high chairs.  If your Home-Start family is ever in need of such items please contact either Bernie or Rose who  can arrange for a donation from Baby Basics.  If you would like more information see their facebook page - Baby Basics GPC or go to the Grange Park church website

Retro Supper Club at Richmond Northampton

The Themed Supper Club this month at Northampton is all "Retro".  Fancy Dress is a must with music from the 1950s. 60s and 70s, along with lava lamps and space hoppers to dazzle you!

The evening will start at 6pm with classic drinks from the decades being served from our bar, why not enjoy a Babycham or a Party 7?

The evening three course meal will be at 7pm, each course from a different decade. Entertainment at 8pm with music for dancing or chair jiving! Come along, dust down those flares and platform shoes and be a "dancing queen only seventeen" for the night once more!!
