Hundreds of cuddly toys donated to local Respite Centre

27 December 2011

Hundreds of cuddly toys were donated recently to The Wingate Centre by Residents and staff from Richmond Village, the local Sainsburys store in Nantwich, Cat Radio, Nantwich Police Station and the general public.

The toys were collected at the Care Home and Retirement Village after staff learnt that every child that goes to the centre receives a cuddly toy as soon as they arrive. After contacting Olwyn Payton at Sainsburys in Nantwich and Cat Radio, an appeal was launched which proved to be extremely successful.

Twitchy the Cat joined Nicola Tooke, Village Advisor fromRichmondVillage, Olwyn Payton and members from Cat Radio to hand the toys over to staff at The Wingate Centre.

Olwyn Payton remarked “We are all delighted at the overwhelming response to this appeal and hope the toys will bring lots of happiness to all the children.”
