Richmond Nantwich Film Club Season Starts Soon!!

The New Richmond Village Film Club Season

 Will begin on FRIDAY 1st OCTOBER 2010 with a screening of the hit musical “ANNIE”

The season runs from October to April with presentations every 4-5 weeks. The films are shown on Friday nights commencing at 7 pm. A great opportunity to socialise during the long winter nights!

The bar will be open from 6 pm until 7 pm for a pre film aperitif

The programme for the season will be available shortly, and will include such films as “The Italian Job”, “Roman Holiday” and “The Young Victoria”

Richmond Letcombe Regis welcomes Age UK Oxford

Paul Cann, Chief Executive of Age UK Oxfordshire, gave a very entertaining and informative talk at the October Richmond Letcombe Regis Supper Club.  Paul discussed topics as diverse as defining ageing, the work of Age UK and his personal experiences as a carer.  He also answered some challenging questions presented to him by the audience.  During the evening Lis Parker, Village Manager, presented Paul with over 300 knitted hats, knitted by residents and staff, for The Big Knit.  These are being sold with Innocent Smoothies to raise funds for Age UK’s Winter Warmth campaign.

Mobile Library in Letcombe Regis

Oxfordshire Libraries are bringing a new library service to Letcombe Regis.  The mobile library will visit once a fortnight from Thursday 21st October, between 3.50pm and 4.50pm and will be available for use by everyone throughout the village.  We are delighted that Oxfordshire Libraries are setting up this facility, which has easy access and offers a wide range of books and information including audio books, large print novels, CDs and DVDs. The Village Café will offer the perfect place to catch up with friends and neighbours whilst making your selection.

Richmond Letcombe Regis will be Wearing it Pink on 21st October

Richmond Letcombe Regis will be going pink on Thursday 21st October, as part of "Wear it Pink Day" organised by Breast Cancer Campaign.  Have you nails painted pink in the Wellness Spa and get out your pink clothes.  There will be lots more information available in the Lakeside Restaurant during morning coffee.

Richmond Northampton Age Concern Great Sunday  Lunch

Richmond Northampton residents will be taking part in The Great Sunday Lunch for Age Concern.

Sunday 24th October 2010 Richmond Northampton will host the annual Age Concern Sunday Lunch starting at midday until 2:30pm. A two or three course meal will be available and £3 from every meal going to Age Concern.

Local Pianist Christopher Behan will be playing on the piano through lunch, the hostess’s will be dressed as Auntie Bessie who sponsor and promote the event   and Age Concern will also be here giving out information on their services.

RICHMOND NANTWICH WIN PRESTIGOUS AWARD

Staff at Richmond Village Nantwich are delighted to have won "Care Employer of the Year" at the recent Great North West Care awards held at the Manchester United Football Ground on Friday 22nd October.

Ten staff attended the glitzy award ceremony on behalf of the Village and heard their name announced as winners of the category for under 250 staff.

Richmond Village Nantwich now go on to represent the region in the national Finals which are being held in London in March 2011.

This award recognises the excellence in providing care and support at all levels and in all departments and everyone is extremely proud that their dedication and hard work has resulted in this wonderful accolade.

Age U.K formally Age Concern are running an information day at Richmond Northampton.

Jim Gammon from Age UK will be at Richmond Northampton on Monday 25th October 2010 from 10:am in the Blue Lounge.

Richmond Northampton Spooky Supper Club

Richmond Northampton residents and staff are planning a spooky evening of fun at Supper club.

Halloween theme is always a great way to get everyone in the spirit and dressed for the occasion and has become an annual event!!

The restaurant is transformed in to a first class grotto with them table clothes, Hostess’s dressed as witches and wizards and many residents coming dressed as a character associated with Halloween.

We are also having a Pumpkin carving session as a care home activity and guess the weight of the pumpkin at supper club.
