RICHMOND NANTWICH HOSTS COMMUNITY EVENT
Richmond Village Nantwich played host to the second "Connecting the Community" day on Saturday 4th September. Beautiful sunshine enticed hundreds of people to come to the Village to see just what is available in and around the local community. Over 30 groups, chariies, clubs and associations came along with information and brilliant fund raising ideas; from the local Greyhound Trust and Wildlife centre with their birds of prey to Cancer Research and local theatre groups - there was something for everyone. Children were able to look at and sit in the town's emergency vehicles and then go and bounce their energy away on a bouncy castle. Others preferred to have their faces painted whilst eating delicious "Snugburys" ice cream. A large raffle raised nearly £200 which was donated to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research who also attended on the day - they were the lucky group whose name was drawn out of a hat to win the money! Prizes were kindly donated by local businesses including Residence, Rookery Hall and Rodney Densem Wines. Edward Timpson MP came along to officially open the event and our Town Mayor Joyce Stockton enjoyed trying to win prizes on the many games on offer. Plans are already underway for next year!
