Richmond Nantwich Hosts First Antiques and Art Event
A steady stream of visitors, residents and villagers enjoyed this new venture staged at Richmond Village Nantwich over the weekend of 21st and 22nd August.
Local art groups and Richmond’s own art groups displayed their work. In total, 157 exhibits executed in various types of media including photography were catalogued.
An additional dimension to the event was an antique valuation provided by Mr Robert Stones of Peter Wilson Auctioneers. We are grateful to Robert Stones, who gave generously of his time and expert knowledge.
Family treasures and heirlooms had been unearthed. What a wide-ranging wealth of knowledge and expertise who required to assess the variety of items brought in for valuation Robert Stones attended to a seemingly endless queue of people, all of whom hoped they were sitting on a fortune. Alas, many were not! However, Robert Stones’ sensitive approach assured them that sentimental value has its own worth.
A teddy bear, a Boer War military medal, an early transistor radio, and an album of first day covers were amongst the items, which were expertly and professionally assessed.
Thank you to everyone for your support, contribution and participation in making our first Art & Antiques event a real success.
