OPEN HOUSE AT RICHMOND VILLAGE FOR CHARITY CUPPA!
A Warwickshire retirement village will be opening its door to the neighbours and asking them to come along to a charity tea party.
Richmond Village, situated in Hospital Lane, Bedworth will be holding A Blooming Great Tea Party in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care on Wednesday 24th June 2009. The party will commence at 2.30pm and finish at 4pm.
Louise Smith, Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Village said “Whilst we do primarily provide residential and care services for older people our residents do play an active part in the local community. So we invite people of all ages to pop in and join us for what is after all a British tradition, afternoon tea. There is no need to book, just turn up and let us pamper you”.
Mike McCann, a Community Fundraiser for the charity said “We are fortunate to have people doing all sorts of activities from running marathons to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, but I cannot think of a better way of raising funds than socialising with friends whilst drinking tea and eating cakes. The Blooming Great Tea Party fundraising campaign was a huge success in 2008 . Over one thousand tea parties were held across the UK, raising over nearly £300,000 and this year we want to make it even bigger. We are encouraging others to hold their own Tea Party too. It’s great fun for toddlers in nurseries, in the workplace and at retirement establishments” .
If you would like to hold your own tea party, please call 08700 340 040 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/teaparty for your free Blooming Great Tea Party fundraising pack.
