Meeting the needs of a growing older population
By 2014 it's been estimated that there will be more people over the age of 65 than under in this country. By contrast, the number of care home beds is contracting.
However, today's older generation has different expectations and aspirations when it comes to lifestyle and accommodation needs. It is Richmond Villages' deep understanding of these needs which has led to the successful creation of its four existing luxury retirement communities, with five more due for completion in the next few years.
Two new sites, one in Letcombe Regis in south Oxfordshire and the other in Torquay, have both had planning permission granted and construction is already underway. Both villages will benefit from a Wellness Spa and Letcombe Regis will have its own bowling green too.
A further three sites have also been granted outline planning permission. These are at Witney in Oxfordshire, Aston-on-Trent in South Derbyshire and Macclesfield in Cheshire.
